Assisted Living and not just Skilled Nursing Homes - Telecommunications Tips


As a lasting care administrator I have witnessed many family members after a few years that have been great advocates for their own families in my Assisted Living and even skilled nursing communities. I have also seen many that have worked hard at just as one advocated but who have been less than effective.

It is important for those who are to be champions for their family care and quality regarding life. So I should offer 4 quick tips to rise your effectiveness.

1. Selection vs. Talk - When a problem arises that requires your attention that are around really good results by putting all questions in writing. A written letter hand shipped to the administrator requesting resolution and a meeting is a highly effective communication tool.

A letter generally posesses written response at any rate which means the resolution will be absolutely gratifying and thorough. Along the same lines it's a good idea for you to experiment with what the grievance policy is about the community and use when needed.
 
2. E-mail Exchanges - By causing an e-mail relationship with the administrator you find a deeper level of obtain and increased frequency involving your communication. My only caution is to locate with restraint.
 
3. If a person Policy vs. Licensing Regulation - From time to time family members will request things the strength refuses to do. Pay attention to the reasons given. If they say you need to against "company policy" you've gotten some flexibility. However if your request will be a violation of "licensing regulations" there usually much that can be done.
 
4. The Good and the bad - There are couple of things in life that all are good or all not good and  senior care communities are not any exception. A great way to make sure that your concerns are taken seriously is assists to communicate the things that community is doing well infrequently. When a family member only communicates negativity it is not easy to take their concerns seriously in the long run. Try and balance your comments to work better.
